Our Mooloolaba SLSC Junior Activies are designed to ensure children aged 5 to 13 years have fun at the beach, while participating in lessons that will give them a pathway to becoming a fully rounded participant in both surf lifesaving and sport.
As Nippers progress through the various age groups, they will undergo lessons in wading, running, swimming, board paddling and lifesaving skills including working towards resuscitation and first aid.
Nipper programs are held every Sunday from Mid September until early March, providing programs on Mooloolaba Beach across approximately 22 weekends!
Each Sunday, the program runs from 8.00am until 10.45am. Younger age groups (Under 6 & 7s) finish earlier at 9.15am.
Lifesaving is something for the whole family to get involved in and there are many supporting roles that you can play as a parent of a child involved in Junior Activities.

OUR TEAM FOR THE 2022/2023 SEASON
Our amazing Nipper Programs cannot be run without the support of our large team of volunteers including Coaches, Water Safety, Age Managers, Gear Stewards and many others.
For the 2022/2023 Season, our Junior Activities are led by the following members.
Working With Children
Surf Life Saving is a source of fun, enjoyment, health and wellbeing for all who choose to participate. In order to show commitment to the safety and welfare of members and others who engage with the association, Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) has adopted the Blue Card Screening Policy. It has been created to protect all SLSQ individual members who are under 18 years of age from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury, exploitation and abuse (including sexual abuse) while under the care and conduct of any Surf Life Saving leader, trainer, age managers, team manager, coach or JAC committee & water safety officials .
Our Nippers parents provide valuable support to our Nippers program each week, and we are so grateful for everything you do!
As many of you would know, it is mandatory that all our regular volunteers are Blue Card holders, but we’d also like to encourage any eligible parents to obtain a Blue Card too, just in case we need you to jump in the canteen or on the BBQ at a moment’s notice!
It’s easy, free and we are here to help!
If you are an existing Blue Card holder we just need to link you to SLSQ.
Furthermore the following 2 x courses are to be completed by all Blue Card holders .
Course 1: SLSC CYRMS INDUCTION
Course 2: SLS CHILDREN SAVE AWARENESS COURSE
The attached Memo & help document assist you in completing these 2 courses:
