“Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club has 400 classified active patrol members who volunteer their time”
From September to May each year our volunteers perform over 14,000 patrol hours on Mooloolaba Beach as well as supporting surrounding clubs.
Combining the community service our members offer on patrol with the council lifeguard service, the Mooloolaba beach is patrolled 7 days a week 365 days of the year.
OUR VOLUNTEERS & MEMBERS
Training is a vital part of the operation of a lifesaving club with all patrol members trained by the volunteer Training Officers in lifesaving skills.
These skills are updated each year to ensure a high standard is maintained.
“Our club welcomes new members as we build for the future”
Members Facilities
Members Facilities
THE CLUBHOUSE
Our Clubhouse sits on beautiful Mooloolaba Beach. Our facilities provide a space for our members to train, educate, participate or to meet with other members to enjoy downtime.
CRAFT STORAGE
The club has a limited number of allocated craft storage and are application only. To be considered for a spot, there will be a minimum volunteer contribution requirement.
Our unique BBQ and kitchen area is often used by members at the end of a patrolling day, or to celebrate wins and achievements.
CLUB GYM
The club gym has a range of strength, resistance and cardio equipment, specifically chosen to complement the training programs set out by our surf sports coaches. Gym membership is restricted to those 16 years and over. If you have never undertaken weights training before, we recommend that you are supervised by someone experienced – ideally a nominated coach/trainer. Training in groups or pairs is also recommended.

Mooloolaba’s Old Boys/Past Members have traditionally played a significant role within the surf club as mentors, custodians of history and tradition and a strong link with past times.
For many, our years in the club were among the most influential and enjoyable experiences of our lives. They left a legacy of life-long friendships and a reservoir of wonderful memories.
But, as the years go by, it becomes harder to maintain those connections and to make new ones across different generations of past members.
That’s why, as we head towards the club’s 100th anniversary concerted efforts have been made to strengthen the Old Boy network and make sure we remember and celebrate the heritage of club that boasts such a rich lifesaving history.
We aim to strengthen and renew connections among these former members themselves and to encourage stronger links between them, the club and the current crop of active members.
One of our more recent initiatives has been the launch of a bi-monthly magazine for past members aptly named The Mooloolaba Connection, copies of which appear on this site.
A common goal among former members who gained so much from their experiences in the club, is to find ways to “give back’’ in whatever ways we can.
One early initiative has been a major fundraising initiative to create a bursary for young members who could benefit from financial assistance. We hope this will be the first of many such initiatives.
The Old Boys/Past Members group welcomes anyone who has actively served in the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club and would like to stay connected with their old club.
