We are committed to child safety
We encourage all parents to obtain a Blue Card so they can help out.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS ARE OPEN FOR EXISTING NIPPER FAMILIES
Families interested in joining the 2026-27 Mooloolaba Nipper Program are asked to complete the New Family Expression of Interest Form.
We will be in touch via email in early August with instructions on how to join. Keep an eye on your inbox or junk mail folder for an email from nippers@mooloolabaslsc.com.au
Mooloolaba SLSC Junior Activities (Nippers) are designed to ensure children aged 5 to 13 years have fun at the beach, while building the child’s confidence and teaching valuable skills about beach safety and surf awareness so they can go on to become lifesavers themselves.
Nippers need to be a minimum of five years of age as at 30 September before they can enrol. Before the start of the Nipper season each participant is required to complete a Preliminary Skills evaluation designed to ensure that each child demonstrates a standard of competence in an aquatic environment.
Mooloolaba Nipper programs are held every Sunday from mid-September through to early March from 8.00am until 10.30am (younger age groups (Under 6 & 7s) finish earlier at 9.30am).
Please note that Nippers is not a ‘learn to swim’ program, your child will need to be able to demonstrate a particular level of swimming skills before being accepted to the program.

CHILD SAFE MATTERS
Our Club and SLSQ takes seriously its responsibility to deliver a safe, fair and inclusive environment for Children & Young People involved in Surf Life Saving.
To report child safe matters or make a complaint, click the “MAKE A REPORT” button below and follow the prompts to complete your submission.
CHILD SAFETY COMMITMENT & blue cards
We encourage all parents to obtain a Blue Card.
This is mandatory for volunteering parents.
Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club is committed to keep all of our members safe, particularly our children. While it is a mandatory legislative requirement that all staff and volunteers who work with children are Blue Card holders, we’d also like to encourage any eligible parents to obtain a Blue Card too, just in case we need you to jump in the canteen or on the BBQ at a moment’s notice!
The Starfish Nipper Program
Mooloolaba Surf Lifesaving Club runs a Starfish Nippers program. Designed for children and young adults with a disability age 6 and above, the program aims to give young people with disabilities beach safety skills and water safety awareness.
