AUGUST 24 UPDATE: APPLICATIONS FOR NEW MEMBERSHIPS FOR OUR SUMMER 2024/2025 SEASON HAVE NOW OPENED. TO APPLY, PLEASE REFER TO THE STEP BY STEP GUIDE BELOW

Our Nipper season runs from mid September through to early March.
If you are planning to join us on the beach for our 2024/2025 summer season, the next opportunity to join will be in August 2024.

Mooloolaba SLSC Junior Activities (Nippers) are designed to ensure children aged 5 to 13 years have fun at the beach, while building the child’s confidence and teaching valuable skills about beach safety and surf awareness so they can go on to become lifesavers themselves.

Nippers need to be a minimum of five years of age as at 30 September.

Before the start of the Nipper season each participant is required to complete a Preliminary Skills evaluation designed to ensure that each child demonstrates a standard of competence in an aquatic environment. (See our Nipper Handbook in Forms & Resources below for Evaluation information).

As Nippers progress through the various age groups, they will undergo lessons in wading, running, swimming, board paddling and lifesaving skills including working towards resuscitation and first aid.

Please note that Nippers is not a ‘learn to swim’ program, your child will need to be able to demonstrate a particular level of swimming skills before being accepted to the program.

Our Mooloolaba Nippers program is held on Mooloolaba Beach most Sundays throughout the summer season.
Activities are on from 8.00am until 10.30am.
Younger age groups (Under 6 & 7s) finish earlier at 9.30am.
